Music In The Gardens returns in style

THE Hamilton Botanic Gardens came alive earlier this month as the Evergreens performed on a beautiful sunny day in front of hundreds of locals who came along to enjoy some Dixieland Jazz.

The gig was the start of the ‘Friends of The Gardens’ summer monthly music program, which over recent years has been interrupted by the pandemic.

It was over 30 degrees on December 4 and followed a hot period which nicely dried up the gardens, with the audience finding plenty of shaded areas to view the performance.

“We did enjoy the day and our Dixieland tunes over the time from 2-4pm had plenty of toes tapping, hands clapping, and even a few people danced on the grass,” David Coldbeck said.

“The gardens staff are to be congratulated on their tireless work in presenting the gardens so well, despite the run of very wet weather we have had.”

Locals should keep an eye out for Music In The Gardens in the coming months, with a number of very entertaining artists set to play.

The program will return on February 5 and March 5, so put the dates in your calendar.
