APRIL 2008 at the Hamilton Golf Club was a day to remember. A chuffed Vera Risk scored a hole in one, won the event with 39 stableford points, plus trophies for longest putt and nearest the pin.

THE Spectator and particularly yours truly lost a great friend after the passing recently of Vera Risk in Warrnambool, aged 93.
We saw a lot of Vera during the past half century when researching and publishing district history became her main focus.
