ROAD rehabilitation works have commenced on the north side of French Street - between Kennedy and McIntyre Street - as part of the Southern Grampians Shire Council’s (SGSC) urban road rehabilitation program.
Works also began on Roscoe Avenue (between Rippon Road and Ballarat Road) on Thursday. Access to Roscoe Avenue Children’s Centre will remain as per normal.
Traffic management will be in place for the duration of the works, but road users are advised some delays are anticipated. Drivers are recommended to seek alternative routes while this work is completed which is expected to be finalised in a fortnight (weather permitting).
“Road rehabilitation works are currently underway along French Street and Roscoe Avenue in Hamilton which are expected to be completed over the coming days. We remind drivers using the area to take care and have patience while these important works are finalised and follow any changes to road signage during this time,” SGSC director of Infrastructure and Sustainability, Marg Scanlon said.
“These works form part of our current urban road rehabilitation program. Council is currently undertaking a $2.4 million program to improve local, Council managed roads for residents with works now halfway through the schedule for the 2022/23 financial year.
