IT’S hard to imagine any sober military commemoration in Australia such as ANZAC Day or Remembrance Day without a group of talented defence force drummers at hand to help provide an appropriately serious air of emotion and reverence to parades and marches.
Although silence is often observed, the processions of veterans and their families without a steady beat would not be commensurate with the gravity of the occasions.
