WANNON Water is promoting its Ripple Effect community grants program which offers funding of up to $5000 for eligible projects.
Launched six years ago, the program reflects the water corporation’s vision of “going beyond water for strong communities” and provides more than $40,000 in grants each year.
General manager of community and corporate services, Kellie King, said everyday Wannon Water supplies customers with sustainable water services, while leading its communities towards a healthier, more prosperous future.
“It’s a commitment that we’re proud to make to the region we call home,” she said.
“Our grants look to foster partnerships and support initiatives and events that align with the four main themes in our community strategy ‘Partnering for Stronger Communities’.
“These aim to help our region prosper, offer quality education and volunteering pathways, support good health and wellbeing, and protect our environment.”
Not-for-profit, volunteer-based, community organisations who operate in the Wannon Water service area are eligible to apply. There are three grant streams - Community grants of up to $5000 for community projects being delivered in the region, International aid grants of up to $4000 for local organisations delivering projects overseas, and School-based grants of up to $1000 for local schools.
Applications for the 2023 grants are now open and close on Monday, May 1. Successful projects will be announced in early June.
