WITH recent mainstream media reports claiming the ANZ Bank had a trend of branches going cashless, The Spectator made enquiries to the Hamilton branch to see if there would be any effect there.

An ANZ media relations spokesperson responded and said that whilst there was a “national trend” of using less cash, at this stage only “a small number of metropolitan branches do not service over the counter transactions with a teller”, emphasising that regional branches had not changed their operations in this respect.
