HAMILTON City councillor, Eddie Lewis, may resign from council, but not until the municipal elections later in the year. Cr. Lewis said yesterday he would not waste ratepayers’ money by making an extra election necessary. Hamilton City Council last week decided to ask Cr Lewis to state his intentions for the future council service. He came in for criticism for failing to attend some council meetings. Cr. Lewis now lives on a farm near Foster in South Gippsland, and has made the 600-mile return trip several times to attend council meetings. He said yesterday he would answer questions relating to his future council service in an open meeting of council. “Things haven’t worked out exactly as I intended when moving down here,” he said.
