Taking blue to the next level, for Dolly

CASTERTON’S Nutrien team is set to take Dolly Everett’s favourite colour to a whole new level, pledging a dip in the cold winter waters of the Glenelg River – for the right price.

Joining colleagues from Nutrien’s national team, Christan, Andrew, Paige, Sarah and Rick, pictured above, have put their hands up to support anti-bullying foundation, Dolly’s Dream and its annual Do It for Dolly Day on Friday, 12 May.

At the beginning of 2018, the country was devastated by the untimely death of 14-yearold Dolly Everett.

Dolly was the victim of relentless bullying.

Following her death, Dolly’s parents, Kate and Tick and her sister Meg, established Dolly’s Dream as a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves and to prevent the lives of other children being lost to bullying.

A fundraising partner of the foundation, Nutrien’s last effort was driven by its staff and saw almost $20,000 donated to the cause.

This year, the Casterton branch is getting on board and has set a fundraising aim of $1500, in memory of Dolly.

“We’re turning blue for Do it for Dolly Day … for every $300 we raise, a Nutrien Casterton staff member will be ‘turning blue’ when they jump into the Glenelg River!” the team’s Paige Hale said.

Brave Paige will be the first to take the plunge, once the first target of $300 is reached.

“We have decided to go in order of how long our staff members have worked here … if we reach $600, our livestock agent Christian will jump, if we reach $900, our real estate agent Sarah will jump, if we reach $1200, our livestock agent Rick will jump and if we reach $1500, our livestock agent Andrew will jump,” Paige said.

Each ‘jump’ will be recorded and posted online and proof of completion.

To help turn the team blue and keep up with its fundraising efforts, keep an eye on the Nutrien Ag Solutions Casterton Facebook page, follow the link to its Dolly’s Dream fundraising page or drop into the office at 13 Henty Street, Casterton.

“Help us get around this amazing cause and Do It For Dolly!” Paige said. Need to talk? Phone or text a counsellor at the Dolly’s Dream Support Line - 0488 881 033
