FRANK Franklin might have been just one of 8141 Australians killed at Gallipoli and his story might never have been told – but the Milltown native now lives on thanks to the persistence of a family who should have been his descendants.
The remarkable tale came to light at Portland this week, when Wendy and Dennis Walton, from the Melbourne suburb of Chirnside Park, were among more than 100 people helping make wreaths at the Civic Hall ahead of Tuesday’s commemorations.
