Hamilton petrol prices continue to increase

SINCE May last year Hamilton has seen unleaded petrol prices rise by 13.3 cents, with the average cost of petrol in town as of Tuesday now at 180.5 cents per litre.

Six months ago, petrol in Hamilton cost 176.9 c/L, indicating an increase of more than 3 c/L during this six-month period.

Although since July 2022 where unleaded in Hamilton on average costed 210c/L, there has been almost a 30 cent decline in price to date.

The most expensive price in Hamilton for unleaded is currently 189.7 c/L while the cheapest sits at 175.9 c/L.

Diesel in Hamilton on average costs motorists 186.1 c/L.

The cheapest diesel price is 179.9 c/L, whilst the most expensive is currently listed at 194.9 c/L.

The average cost of E10 across Hamilton is 180 c/L. 

The most expensive price for E10 is 187.7 c/L which is 11.8 c/L more expensive than the cheapest in town.

However, petrol prices in Melbourne are much higher at almost $2 a litre at some locations, highlighting the city/regional price differential.
