WITH large holes potentially causing grief for the community in the carpark behind IGA, the Southern Grampians Shire Council Works team decided to do something about it earlier this week. Council explained on a social media post, “While this is private property, numerous complaints have been lodged with Council and with excess fill available, the large potholes have been filled as a temporary measure to improve safety for all commuters and pedestrians.” The post received 172 ‘likes’ and 38 comments underneath and was clearly popular with locals. Some comments included were, “Great work, temp work is better than nothing at all”, “thank for putting the community first” and “I was worried I was going to disappear in one or two or three of the holes”.
