Shuttle coming to town

THE Seymour Railway History Centre is hosting a heritage shuttle day trip for Hamilton and Portland locals on Saturday, July 15.

The first Hamilton shuttle will head towards the Grampians at 11.10am and return at 12.10pm.

The second shuttle will depart Hamilton at 12.20pm towards the Chrome loop and will arrive back in Hamilton at 1.30pm, and the final shuttle leaves Hamilton at 1.50pm and will be back in Hamilton by 2.50pm.

The Portland shuttle will leave at 8.30am where it will travel down the branch line stopping at Heywood to pick up passengers before arriving at Hamilton in time for lunch where passengers can take an optional lunch package at the Roxburgh Cafe (a short walk from the station) or explore the city of Hamilton at their own pace and take in the shops, stroll through the park or have a lunch or a light meal at their own cost. Passengers can the join the train on return at 3pm and arrive back at Portland at 5.40pm.

On Sunday, July 16 before the train returns to Melbourne and Seymour, there is time for Portland residents to take a two-hour ride in the heritage train to Heywood and return leaving Portland at 8.30am.
