NEW residents to the Greater Hamilton region are invited to an evening of connection and community at Council’s New Resident’s function this month.
This year’s function will be held on Monday, June 19 at the Hamilton Library on Brown Street, Hamilton, commencing at 6pm.
The night will be an informal gathering to extend a warm welcome to new residents and provides the opportunity to meet other newcomers to the region. A variety of information will be available to assist new residents in settling into the Southern Grampians region. Light refreshments and finger food will be provided throughout the event.
Southern Grampians Shire Council mayor, Cr David Robertson, encouraged those new to the area to take advantage of this opportunity to familiarise themselves with the region and meet some new friends.
“I am excited to meet all the new people who have chosen to call this wonderful part of the world their home. Our shire is an exceptional place to live, raise a family and work so we want to welcome you and introduce you to the many different aspects of life to be lived and enjoyed here,” he said.
“I encourage any interested new residents to come along to this night and learn more about the wide range of facilities, services, clubs and groups that are available in the region.”
Volunteer organisations, community and sporting groups will be in attendance to provide information and to answer any questions about settling in the region.
To register interest or if wishing to attend on behalf of a community group, please contact Eda Williamson on ewilliamson@sthgrampians.vic.gov.au or by calling 5573 0444 by Friday, June 17.
