IT took seven appliances from local Fire Brigades an hour to extinguish a house fire on Coleraine Road, Hamilton on Sunday night.
Multiple calls were made to triple zero just before 8pm regarding the fire involving the old weatherboard home that was unoccupied at the time.
Crews from North Hamilton Rural Fire Brigade, Hamilton CFA, and Warrnambool CFA attended with breathing apparatuses required.

Crews from the Hamilton Fire Brigade were recalled several hours later early on Monday morning about 4am after some rubble reignited but was quickly brought under control.
District 5 Commander, Andrew Emery said the house was well alight when crews arrived on Sunday night with the majority of the fire on the roof.
“Due to the ferocity of the fire, firefighters were not able to enter the building and conducted an external attack on the fire,” he said.
“The quick response by CFA crews was able to limit the damage to an extent, and they were able to save some personal effects.
“Some of the ground floor was not completely destroyed - with approximately $300,000 worth of damage.
“CFA investigators were still on the scene on Monday morning trying to establish the cause, but it doesn’t appear to be suspicious circumstances.”
Power, gas and water companies were also notified.
Hamilton SES provided support at the scene while Hamilton Police assisted with traffic control.
Hamilton SES unit duty officer, John McKenzie said three members attended the scene.
“It was a structure fire that we were called to assist fire services (to) suppress and contain,” he said.
“We assisted with the provision of a lighting tower.”
