Crime fiction writer visits Hamilton

BEST-SELLING crime author, Margaret Hickey, stopped by Bellcourt Books on Tuesday morning to present her new crime fiction novel Broken Bay to interested locals.

The well-renowned author is currently embarking on a regional press tour for her new book in different towns and has now visited Hamilton, Bendigo, Mount Gambier, Casterton, Portland and Warrnambool.

Broken Bay is a murder mystery set along the Limestone Coast in South Australia.

It follows the story of a diver who drowns in a sinkhole on a wealthy landowner’s property, unearthing the mysterious disappearance of a woman 20 years earlier which becomes the talk of the town.

Broken Bay is Ms Hickey’s third published crime novel, after previously finding success with Stone Town and Cutters End.

The turnout for the presentation and signing event was impressive, with many interested locals gathering to hear about her new publication.

Bellcourt Books will also be hosting similar signing events in the coming months, with a number of great children’s authors set to come and present their books.

Those who were unable to attend on Tuesday or would like to hear more about the new book can see Ms Hickey at the Dunkeld Writers Festival in August.
