MS ride raises $3500

JAMES Stubbs has so far raised $3500 for Multiple Sclerosis (MS) after completing the tough three-day Hattah Desert Race last weekend, located 70 kilometres south of Mildura.

Mr Stubbs said that he was happy to finish the race and was proud of himself for doing it for MS and his sister, Lisa Grayland, who suffers from the shocking central nervous system disease.

“I was hoping to raise a bit more money than what I did but I am still very thankful for what I achieved for MS and people are still donating,” he said.

“I did not have a great prologue (qualifying lap) on Saturday for Sunday’s race.

“I placed 295th out of 405 bikes and my qualifying lap the day before set me back in the field at a start position of 385th and I was on my bike racing for a total of five hours and 15 minutes.”

Mr Stubbs said that the race was brutal on his body and bike, and that he was exhausted after but felt a great sense of achievement.

“Lap two was one of the roughest laps on track and similar to lap eight last year,” he said.
