A TAHARA farmer who narrowly escaped a prison sentence on animal cruelty charges relating to multiple deaths of Angus cattle on his property, instead copped a hefty fine of $52,000.
Represented in the Hamilton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday by Melbourne barrister, Alan Marshall, fifth generation Western District farmer, Neil Lindsay McIntosh, pleaded guilty to three charges of cruelty to animals and seven charges of aggravated cruelty to an animal.
