Increased services for recycling machine

IN response to popular demand, TOMRA Cleanaway has increased services to the Woolworths reverse vending machine.

A TOMRA Cleanaway spokesperson told the Observer the machine will now be emptied twice a day.

“Increased services to the Woolworths Portland machine have been arranged in response to the community’s enthusiasm for the new CDS Vic reverse vending machine, with services increased to twice per day this week in response to community demand,” they said.

“With more services to empty the machine, residents will experience greater availability and access to return their eligible containers through CDS Vic.

“At TOMRA Cleanaway we are always reviewing out network of refund points, and as consumer demand for additional refund collection points increase, we will explore additional opportunities to install new refund points to provide a convenient and accessible refund collection point network.

“In the response to the keen participation we are seeing by residents in Portland, an additional site has been proposed for the region with the machine set to go live in early 2024.

“Further information will follow in due course.”
