WORKS have begun to install new parking meters in Hamilton’s CBD after contractor delays pushed back the start date from the initial mid-December timeframe. The 17 new-generation machines are to be spread out across town, with seven on Gray Street, six on Thompson Street and four on Brown Street. Parking is free throughout the installation period and the meters are expected to be completed and running by January 19. Once up and running, users will be able to pay for their parking by tapping a bank card or using the Easy Park phone App.
