Lamb bringing Aussies together

THE annual summer Australia Lamb advertisement has returned for 2024 highlighting that nothing bridges the “generation gap” and brings people together quite like Aussie lamb.

Ex-AFL premiership player and media personality, Sam Kekovich, is the face of the ad and has long been promoting Australian lamb across the region.

Mr Kekovich even made an appearance at Hamilton’s Sheepvention back in 2022 giving locals the chance to be served up a free snag from the ‘Lambassador’ himself.

The short film is highly anticipated each year and in 2024, it details a world in which Aussies are separated by the generation gap, keeping each group away from one another.

Each age group had been unable to associate with each other geographically and had become the worst versions of themselves.

Until a lamb BBQ appears and unites all Australians together, allowing them to realise that each age group actually has a lot more in common than initially thought.

Meat and Livestock Australia domestic market manager, Graeme Yardy, said the ad was a great way to deliver a message to the public.

“Pop culture would have us believe that the generations are practically different species … but in reality, there’s far more that unites than separates us,” he said.

“Apparently, Boomers are unable to master the basics of technology whilst Zoomers spend every waking moment making TikTok dances, and Millennials spend too much on avo toast and craft beer.”

Mr Yardy said lamb should be on the shopping list for all Australians this summer to help support local farmers.

“What better way to break down the generational divide than over an epic Aussie lamb BBQ, the ultimate unifier,” he said.
