WEEKEND Pennant Bowls home and away fixtures were completed on Saturday and division one results went pretty much to ladder positions.
Memorial remained on top of the ladder and points total was 197 out of a possible 224.
The final round win was against Penshurst at the water garden and the home side was kept to a low total, while the visitors overloaded the result sheet.
Bret Linke managed eight to Clay Holcombe 38, Phil Allen 11 to Kel Wiffen 29, and the one positive result was Mick Ross 19 to Graeme Solly 18, which led to an overall 38-85 total.
The loss dropped Penshurst back to third on the ladder.
Portland wasn’t far behind Memorial on the total numbers with 81 to Heywood 49.
Peter Cottier 26 to Ken Woolley 11, Tony Hogan 23 to Mick Swan 12, and Lindsay Gruar 32 to Rick Angelino 26.
Portland sits second and Heywood dropped back to sixth after being in the four earlier in the season.
Hamilton took on Grangeburn and got one rink win by three shots the others went to the ‘burners.
Norm Pech with 18 defeated Grant Gibson 15, Hamish McDonald 19 to Bert Partington 23, and Peter Graham 12 to Leah McCabe 24.
Grangeburn in fourth and Hamilton finished down the bottom.
Casterton incurred the invasion by Balmoral and the result wasn’t as good as hoped.
Andy Alderton 14 to Troy Gore 30, Neil Shannon 25 to Paul Stanislawski 20, and Styx Russell stuck on seven to Nev Trotman 29, with the final figures being 46 to 79.
Balmoral remained in fourth, while Casterton finished seventh.
A big thanks to Casterton for volunteering to be in division one, it saved a bye and the club was very competitive.
The first semi-final will be between Penshurst and Balmoral and the second semi-final will be between Memorial and Portland, with both games to be played on the new Hamilton green.

Division two
THIS division had a major shuffle of top four positions and unfortunately for Coleraine, the side missed a final by one point.
So, Memorial went from third to first after a win over Hamilton Gold.
Gerry Watt 24 to Jack Waldron 20, and Ted Leahy was on fire with 31 to Gordon Scott 14, ending in a 55-34 score.
Coleraine 43 to Heywood 33, finished the season with two team wins, after Bruce Armstrong 19 to Coral Stephens 15 and Super Steve Cooper 24 to Daryl Moore 18.
Macarthur went up from fourth to third in the cliffhanger.
Bill Edge 20 to Rob Thornton 10, and Clifton Tonissen 19 to Geoff Woods 20, with the one-shotter meaning Macarthur goes up to third and Green will be their opponents on Saturday, as the loss dropped the side from second to fourth.
Grangeburn had a successful day playing second-placed Portland.
The win didn’t alter the home side’s position but dropped Portland back to second.
Fred Hardy 15 to Andy Smail 16, and Nettie Ryan 29 to Alan Warburton 12, leading to a solid 44 to 28 victory.
Memorial will play Portland and Macarthur will play Green, with both games at Grangeburn

Division three
THE results didn’t make any difference to the final four, including Hamilton Green’s 38-50 loss to Balmoral.
Graeme Wallis got from 22 to 26 on the very last end against Murray McInnes, who ended up with 23, and Miriam Tonissen 12 to Paul Raggatt 27.
Memorial kept Hamilton Gold to two points after Peter Fasoli 26 defeated Heather McIntyre 18, and Kevin Husson with 17 to Maxi Spiller 21, leading to a 43-39 result.
Grangeburn lost to Dartmoor and scores were 31 to 42.
Wendy Kosch managed nine to Redeye Kerr 29, and Lesley Stewart finished the season with 22 to Peter Holmes 13.
Penshurst’s run to the finals was not harmed by a loss to Portland, as Ian McLean 17 lost to Heather Burgess 27, and Chris Laurence drew with Peter Longstaff, 22-22.
Memorial will play Portland and Dartmoor will play Penshurst, both on Hamilton’s B green.

Division four
AGAIN, there was a reshuffle, this time of the top five to finish.
Heywood 38 lost to Memorial Blue 47 after Des Stuchbery 18 to Rob Hamblin 22, and Corey Spruit 20 to Jan Hamblin 25.
Hamilton Gold with 44 to Portland 28, following Barry Dowling 26 to Les Baker 12, and Jim Nichol the close one with 18 to Gary Milich 16, which lifted the side from third to second.
Portland missed out after dropping from fourth to fifth.
Coleraine was the perpetrator of the change when a win over Memorial Red at Memorial collected 12 points and finished four above Portland.
Rhonda Bramley got a win for Red with 21 to Alan Templeton 16, while Judy Fasoli 13 on the other side was outscored by Roger Woolley with 24.
Penshurst and Grangeburn had a competitive result, as the final scores were 34 to 37.
Alan Roll 11 to Peter Moore 24, and Neil Banning 23 to Bev Casey 13.
So, the final home and away scores to report are Hamilton Green with 52 to Macarthur 34.
Peter Moller 30 to Carle Dunn 11, and Peter Anson 22 to Nan Sharrock 23.
Memorial Blue v Hamilton Gold and Memorial Red v Coleraine are the semi-final games and are to be played at Heywood.
