HAMILTON Police currently have a major focus on speed around school zones especially on North Boundary, Coleraine, and Ballarat Road.
Acting sergeant, Henry Rundell, said that Hamilton Police are focusing on school traffic zones particularly in North Boundary Road as well as the heavy vehicle detour which is in place due to Cox Street roadworks.
“We just want to remind the public to take care around school zones and to slow down and keep everyone safe,” he said.
“Drivers need to watch out for pedestrians and be aware of young children as they can be unpredictable and difficult to see, give cyclists plenty of space, and be cautious around all schools and on all our roads.
“Police will be patrolling the area and focusing on monitoring speed and other traffic offences of motorists of who use North Boundary Road and the vicinity and will be issuing penalty infringement notices for offending motorists – if there are any concerns contact Hamilton Police.
