Harrow Pancake Day

HARROW Bush Nursing Centre long-term volunteer and French-trained chef, Sloba Petrovic will again be cooking-up a pancake stack this coming Tuesday.

Sloba’s Pancake Tuesday efforts have traditionally funded medical equipment at Harrow Bush Nursing Centre.

This year brings with it a change in fundraising, with all proceeds to be directed to the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).

Harrow has warmly welcomed the critical skills of Dr Lisa Bendtsen of the Flying Doctor’s Rural Women’s GP Service since July 2022 - she has visited Harrow for two days every six weeks meeting patients’ health needs.

RFDS accredited Mental Health social worker David Turnbull also visits regularly, providing free wellbeing and counselling sessions on a six-to-eight-week basis in Harrow.

Sloba was very keen to raise the profile of RFDS and funds for its vital work.

“We never know when any of us might need their services,” she said.

Head to Harrow Bush Nursing Centre on Tuesday, February 13 from 11am to 1pm; the time-honoured duo of Sloba and fellow volunteer, Lola Jones will dish-up serves of two pancakes for $6.
