SUNDAY will be a huge day for Harrow with a long list of events and activities to engage in and with, the small town of barely over a hundred people possibly swelling to several hundred.
Activities start at 9am with the Billy Carts Race Day going all day with junior, women’s and open sections, but if that’s not your thing, there’s cricket and cricket-related events starting at the same time at the Johnny Mullagh Reserve, including the junior cup at 9.30am and the main match at 1pm between the Mullagh’s and Glenelg.
The Vern McCallum Collection will be displayed from 10am to 4pm at the town hall - come and view photos which include some of Harrow’s colonial past.
At 12.30pm there’s an electrofishing display and at 2pm the famous duck race on the Glenelg River will take place – buy a duck as proceeds go to the local Bush Nursing Centre.
At 2.30pm the Classic Catch competition will be the centre of attention, followed at 4pm by the Mullagh Maximum Hit competition.
All this, ready to finish up the day with Nick Falkenberg and Eddie Boyle in concert at 7pm, followed up at 8pm by former Goanna singer Shane Howard with his band.
