THE Balmoral District Lions Club is inviting locals to come along to the field day that brings the town of Balmoral to life, with the annual Balmoral Easter Market this Saturday from 9am-1pm.
There will be a Lions Club raffle drawn at 1pm with a range of prizes up for grabs for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd placings.
Vice-president of the Balmoral Lions club, James Parker said the Easter Market that has been running for over 30 years is the perfect way for local families to come and support the small town.
“It is really good for the town,” he said.
“It kind of puts Balmoral in the spotlight for a bit, it’s good to support the businesses, people like to congregate and chat.”
There will be a range of stalls down the main street of Balmoral, including Debs chooks, Keegan Nursery, the Balmoral K-12 Community College, bric-a-brac, homemade items, metal art, jewelry and many more.
“We usually get over 60 stalls,” Mr Parker said.
Mr Parker also said that he will be running his own stall on the day, selling a range of his own timber creations.
The Balmoral shops will also be open for the community to come and see what the local businesses have to offer.
“With running the market, all the money goes back into the community,” Mr Parker said.
“The funds from the market have helped support Lions Club projects such as prostate cancer research, Anzac Day tokens for the RSL, and purchasing park benches for local parks.”
