THE Southern Grampians Shire Council (SGSC) have informed residents that Stage One of two stages of the Cox Street Redevelopment is soon to be complete and the road to be reopened before ANZAC day, with the completion date set to Wednesday, April 24.
SGSC announced the new opening date to the community in a social media post on Friday morning.
“MACA have indicated that there is still eight days work remaining to complete Stage One of the Cox Street Redevelopment,” they said.
“These works include completion of Sedgewick and Cox Street intersection, completion of the Cox and Gray Street roundabout, surface finalisation, east side footpath completion (to Gray Street), removal of temporary fencing and water bollards.”
Council also said that residents should continue to make an effort where possible to shop and use services from businesses affected by the redevelopments.
“We acknowledge and apologise for the continued impact to local businesses,” they said.
“We ask for everyone to continue to support them throughout the remainder of these works and into the future.”
