YOUTH Fest are calling all skate, scoot, and BMX enthusiasts to get ready and show off their skills at the Youth Skate Fest, an event coming to the Coleraine and Hamilton Skate Parks.
Hosted by world Aussie skater Renton Millar, former World Cup Vert champion and four-time Australian bowl and vert champion, with Renton himself taking the stage for a skate demonstration.
Renton has travelled the world as a professional, competing, demonstrating, and teaching.
He helped to innovate no-handed flip tricks on vert ramps and his smooth style, accompanied by his huge ollies.
The party kicks off with free skate lessons at Coleraine Skate Park on April 27 at 3pm.
Advance registration is required to secure your spot.
On April 28, the show continues with more free skate lessons at Hamilton Skate Park at 11am, just before the main event.
The highlight of the festival is the Skate, Scoot, and BMX Competition starting at 12pm on April 28.
With categories for both Under 13 and Open divisions, participants have the chance to showcase their skills and compete for prizes.
Plus, young enthusiasts will have the opportunity to step into the role of judges, mentored by Renton.
Southern Grampians Shire Council youth engagement officer, Emily Anderson said, “This is such a fun and exciting event for the community.”
“Our local young people have fabulous skills and energy and it’s important they have an opportunity to come along to a fun and exciting event to improve and showcase their skills.”
This event is hosted by the Southern Grampians Shire Council and made possible through the Victorian Government Freeza Program.
