Dunkeld: sculpting a project

IN 2023, Off the Rails Dunkeld (OTRD) received a donation from Lost in Sculpture (an exhibition which ran biennially in Dunkeld from 2009 to 2015) to be used creatively through an artistic project.

OTRD president, Kerryn Benbow said, “We are very grateful to have the opportunity to create this legacy of Lost in Sculpture.

“We are currently in the exploration phase of the project, looking at additional funding options and seeking donations to the project.”

Sculpture ideas have been buzzing since the OTRD committee held a meeting last Sunday and plans have been made to hold a Clay and Sip session on Sunday, July 28, at 2pm.

OTRD has invited anyone interested to come along to the session and further explore themes and ideas for the project.

Ms Benbow said, “The OTRD committee have some very creative ideas for the sculpture, exploring the themes of nature, connection, community and diversity.

“We have already engaged with a local Elder, artists, and some residents,” she said.

The most recent plan for the sculpture’s location has been at the historic Dunkeld Railway Station.

“We are looking forward to engaging with the Dunkeld community in a meaningful and collaborative way,” Ms Benbow said.

Any ideas for the sculpture can be sent to otrdunkeld@gmail.com
