Red sky in the morning, shepherd’s warning?

DESPITE the well-known adage about impending rain, local graziers would’ve been unlikely to have been upset to wake up on Thursday morning and see this sky before sunrise, potentially heralding a very late autumn break just two days before winter.

Hamilton received 11.6 millimetres for the 24 hours up until 9am Friday morning, Port Fairy got 2.6mm, Casterton 10.6mm, Mount William 16.2mm, Kanagulk 12mm, Edenhope 12.8mm, Dartmoor 10.4mm, and Westmere and Mortlake both 4.4mm. More rain is forecast from Tuesday next week. Photo: JANINE WOMBWELL.
