Regional tourism grants available

ALL eligible organisations are now able to apply for the next round of the Regional Events Fund grants.

Grants of up to $500,000 will be open to organisers of festivals, sports events, exhibitions, and more to attract and grow events of international or national significance, while grants of up to $50,000 will be available for marketing and support of events that attract intrastate and interstate visitors.

“We have some truly world-class events in this region largely run by a volunteer base, but they will always need financial support,” Lowan MP, Ms Kealy said.

“Whether it be the Sheepvention Rural Expo, Casterton’s Australian Kelpie Muster, or the St Mary’s Christmas Parade in Hamilton, there is truly something for everyone at our local events.

“We want to attract more people to visit regional Victoria, have them stay locally, and increase the amount of money spent in our local communities.

“It would be great to see as many communities as possible benefit from this funding to ensure our regional towns continue to get the support they deserve.”

Ms Kealy also said she would be happy to provide letters of support for eligible applications.

Applications for the Regional Events Fund, delivered by Visit Victoria, can be made via the website at bit.ly/4c1iCrZ until Sunday, June 30.
