A FREE information session on mindful eating will be hosted at the Hamilton Indoor Leisure and Aquatic Centre (HILAC) for all the community at 6.30pm on Tuesday, June 11.
The event will feature a session by “Eating for You” author dietician and mindfulness practitioner, Sallyanne Pisk.
Ms Pisk has over 20 years of experience in nutrition, research and management, and will lead a session to ‘Take weight off your mind for good without a diet’.
Southern Grampians Shire Council, mayor David Robertson said this was a fantastic opportunity to look at our community health and wellbeing outcomes.
“This event is perfect for anyone in our community who wants to find a healthier version of themselves,” he said.
“This engaging talk aims to teach about diets, why they don’t always work and how we should be thinking about our nutrition.
“It’s also a wonderful opportunity for like-minded people in the community to meet and bond. This promises to be a great evening, and I’m certain that we’ll all walk away with valuable information.”
The session will begin at HILAC in Hamilton and will:
• Explain why traditional diets can often fail.
• Offer insights on how to rethink nutrition.
• Provide practical tips for changing your food habits.
• Empower you to make healthier choices moving forward.
Cr Robertson said this is another example of Council’s commitment to focus on Southern Grampians health.
“Our Community Public Health and Wellbeing Plan 2021-2025 outlines our commitment to do what we can to help improve our region’s community health and wellbeing outcomes,” he said.
“To support these outcomes, HILAC often run free information sessions and have fantastic fitness tips and programs.
“If you haven’t already, follow their Facebook page to stay up to date on free sessions like this one.”
Don’t miss this opportunity to transform your approach to eating and wellness. Mark your calendars for June 11 and join with others at HILAC for an evening of learning and community.
