THE Hampshire Down ram, ‘Chief’ from Mortlake-based Bonong stud won Champion Ram and Supreme Exhibit in that breed’s section of the Virbac Sheep Show.

Studmaster, Kane Hildred told The Spectator that Chief, a homebred 15-month-old, also won the corresponding titles at the recent Australian Sheep and Wool Show at Bendigo.

Bonong is a small stud which is having great show success with this breed which is rapidly regaining popularity due to its marbling and tenderness qualities.
