A MAGNITUDE 3.4 earthquake rattled Hamilton on Thursday morning at 5.09am, with some residents in the area having woken after feeling the tremor.
The shake came from a depth of 3km, and there were some reports from residents who said they had been woken by the tremors, with several reports of windows rattling in the region.
Another nearby resident said the earthquake was felt out at Byaduk North, 20km South of Hamilton.
No reports of major damage have been recorded.
This was Victoria’s second reported earthquake this week, with the Gippsland region having experienced a 3.0 magnitude earthquake on Monday night.
VIC SES said there had been very few felt reports and that there was no extensive damage expected at from an earthquake at that level.
