THE last prime market for August saw numbers remain similar to that of previous market, with the usual buyers in attendance.

The trade run consisted mainly of light weaner cattle which sold strongly to local backgrounders.

Light Steers and Heifers below 250 kilograms both reached 340 cents per kilogram.

The heavy Bullocks sold firm on previous market’s s rate, to achieve 344c/kg. 

The cow run was dominated by dairy breeds, in which quality slipped on previous sale’s offering, with prices remaining firm to slightly easier mainly due to quality.

 Best Friesian cows made 300c/kg

Fewer Bulls were yarded last week with prices slightly easier, once again quality driven, with 290c/kg achieved.
