HAMILTON ratepayer’s association has launched a campaign to reduce the risk of injury to school children crossing Gray ST., in Hamilton. The association is seeking prohibition of U-turns by vehicles in a larger section of the street. It is also investigating ways an adult could supervise children using a school crossing near the Gray St-Kennedy St. intersection. Some association members are concerned by reports of children narrowly missing being hit by cars at the crossing. One member, Mr. Tom Cherry, said he had learnt one of his children had two near misses. The association will ask Hamilton City Council to initiate a move to ban U turns in Gray St. from the Cox St. intersection to Carmichael St.
