RAAF Roulettes thrill Portland residents

THE sky over Portland was alive with the sound of air force planes on Saturday morning as the Royal Australian Airforce (RAAF) Roulettes team put out on a display for residents.

The Roulettes are the RAAF’s aerobatic display team and on Saturday they put on a practice show for Portland residents with the best viewing at the Portland Foreshore.

The practice session was in the lead up to the Mildura Air Show on Sunday and Portland residents were not only able to see the aircraft fly, dive and spin but were also able to meet the pilots at Portland Airport.

The Roulettes planes were easily visible at Alexandra Park, where spectators of the grand final football and netball matches took a few moments to enjoy the planes flying above them.

The Roulettes later went to Mt Gambier before making their way to Mildura.
