Byaduk and Community Spring Show returns

A WONDERFUL tradition will continue at Byaduk on Saturday, November 2 with the Byaduk and Community Spring Show reaching 116 years, a truly remarkable achievement and something Byaduk and the Community has been proud of.

This year the Show will be held at the Byaduk Hall which will be brimming with flowers, craft, cookery and photography with a large number of Stallholders surrounding the outdoor area. 

It is a unique event that has become a major highlight for the district, and one that always delivers a terrific atmosphere and a wonderful family day out.

Under the guidance of a young and enthusiastic team of amazing volunteers, this year’s committee have been keen to continue the success of the show after last year’s record crowd attendance with record entries. 

With 114 different categories, there will definitely be something for everybody across all age groups.   

There will be sections for students aged 8-14 for floral art with a number of categories for floral saucer, bunch of pretty flowers and floral headpiece. 

For the children aged under 7, there will be sections for favourite flower, collection of leaves and bunch of pretty flowers. 

Homecrafts has been a very popular section with paintings, knitting, needlework, homemade jewellery and decorated mask, to name a few across three age groups. 

The show’s photography section has always been fun with the funniest photo, favourite portrait, best animal and landscape. 

Many gardeners will be watching their roses hoping to take out the Brenda Millard Perpetual Trophy Champion Rose of the Show, a very prestigious award that has generated great interest over many years, as well as many other trophies on offer.

Live music entertainment will be provided as well as face painting and kids activities to make it an enjoyable day for the whole family.

The chosen charity this year for the show is The Western District Health Service (WDHS) Maternity Ward which will make a contribution towards the fundraising for a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machine for newborns, as well as sharing the proceeds for Byaduk Community projects.

There is a new registration format this year with all entries being completed online through the new website at byadukspringshow.com.au where photos, entry forms and frequently asked questions can be found.

Anyone needing a copy of the entry form is encouraged to email byadukspringshow@gmail.com 

All completed entry forms are to be delivered to the hall on Friday, November 1 between 6-8pm to be judged on Saturday morning. 

There is a large number of stallholders already booked in selling an amazing variety of products throughout the day, including Macarthur Men’s shed, Paddock Stitches, Juju Designs Plus Peonies, Lyn Bunworth, Gina’s Craft, the Morgan family Yendora White Suffolk Rams, Macarthur Primary School Bake Stall, Casterton Distilling, Naomi Hill Sticks and Stones, The Hill Boys Woodwork, Pierrepoint Proteas, Java Jive coffee van,  Chelsea Fox Ceramics, Isabella Mackirdy illustrations, Hamilton Community House, CWA Hamilton evening branch, Suffoir Winery and Distillery, Tayler Made Crochet, Hamilton Wool and Craft Guild, Ilk Skinware, The little Golden Book man, Heywood Ag, Volcano Produce, Em and Meg, and Committee Plant Stall. 

Jo Levy of ‘For The Love of Flora’ has kindly offered to make a floral display, as a continuous contributor of stunning archways and floral walls.

There will also be a sausage sizzle and a lamb weight guessing competition throughout the day to win a meat tray. 

The Hall will open at 10am to the general public, with the trophy presentation and official opening at 11.30am.

Entry is $10 including refreshments, with children under 14 free.
