LAST Sunday, the Coleraine Field and Game Club hosted a Charity Clay Target Shoot, raising over $27,000 in support of a new café for aged care residents at the Western District Health Service (WDHS) Coleraine Campus.
The funds will contribute to the development of a dementia-friendly café, offering a welcoming space for residents who may find it difficult to venture outside the facility due to health limitations.
The event saw over 79 participants from across the south west, with a remarkable display of skill and plenty of fun had by all.
WDHS thanked Southern Grampians Livestock and Real Estate, along with the trap and stand sponsors, for their generous support of the event, with a special mention to the Coleraine and District Community Bank for supporting the event and café project with a substantial contribution of $10,000.
“We also extend our gratitude to Vicki Whyte, Fundraising Chair, for her outstanding efforts in securing sponsors and supporters for the day and to Josh Vickery and the Coleraine Field and Game Committee for putting on such a great day,” a WDHS spokesperson said.
“Thanks to everyone involved in making this event such a memorable and impactful one.”
