WITH the warmer weather approaching, residents can dispose of green waste for free at the Hamilton Transfer Station between Monday, November 4 and Sunday, November 10.
Please note this does not apply to commercial vehicles.
The free drop off is in addition to the weekly FOGO collection which will continue through until the end of November, with normal fortnightly collections due to resume from December.
This is a great opportunity to reduce fine fuels such as long grass, leaves, twigs and loose tree bark around your property in readiness for Councils Fire Prevention Period which is due to commence in the coming weeks.
Fine fuel hazards make it easier for fires to start and harder to put out, so it’s vital to maintain your property for the duration of the fire danger period.
