WHEN the address of this week’s house was advised by the agent it took me a few moments to gather my thoughts before realising I knew the property and some of its history. 

I remember the home being built by a well-known Hamilton businessman who moved to it from a few houses down Clarke Street where he and his family had lived for as long as I can recall.

It was clear that it was a preferred location as this is the first time it has been offered since being built. 

My recollections get hazier every day (they tell me a natural consequence of ageing) but to the best of my memory the home was built in the 70’s and, passing it most days on my travels, it has been maintained to a very high standard ever since.
