A SMALLER offering of cattle was put forward last week with a total of 83 comprising of 48 cows, 24 trade, 4 bullocks and 7 bulls.
The usual buyers were in attendance and operated in a firm to slightly softer market.
Quality eased in the trade category, with light weight heifers scarce in supply topping at 416 cents per kilogram, whilst medium weights reached 412c/kg and grown heavy heifers over 500 kilograms returned 380c/kg.
The steer category saw steers between 350-500kg fetch 598c/kg, whilst heavy bullocks averaged 390c/kg returning $3940 per head.
The cow run saw a reasonable yarding of well-covered cows offered.
The best heavy cows made to 365c/kg and ranged from 320-350c/kg for most sales and plainer bodied processing cows ranged from 300-320c/kg.
There were less genuine store cows on offer, with the pick reaching 350c/kg.
Bulls eased by 10 cents, with the top heavy bulls reaching 345c/kg.
