Sheep & Goat Roadshow

THE Victorian Farmers Federation (VFF) Stock Sense team is sending a travelling sheep and goat roadshow to Hamilton to present a free workshop on relevant health, welfare, and biosecurity issues next Wednesday, July 6, between 6-9pm pm at the Hamilton Golf Club.

Livestock producers will have the opportunity to hear from several experts speaking on a range of topics to be covered by the Stock Sense Sheep & Goat Roadshow, including pain relief, lice and fly management, chemical resistance, on-farm biosecurity and barber’s pole worm.

Expert guest speakers include Dr Andrew Whale from Livestock Logic, Craig Stevenson from Elanco, and district veterinarians from Agriculture Victoria.

VFF Livestock president, Steve Harrison, said Victoria was a leader in animal health, welfare and biosecurity.

“We’re calling on livestock producers to get involved to ensure it stays this way,” he said.

Stock Sense is an initiative of VFF Livestock Group and is co-funded by the Cattle Compensation Fund and the Sheep & Goat Compensation Fund.

Their aim is to help Victorian livestock producers adopt animal health and production practices that improve animal welfare and Victoria’s biosecurity status.

Other roadshow events have been scheduled for Buninyong, Horsham, Swan Hill and Bendigo.

Lunch or dinner will be provided to attendees at all events, with time allocated to ask questions to the invited speakers.
