AGRICULTURE Victoria is helping the state’s agricultural producers expand their businesses and reach new markets with a webinar series that started yesterday.
Agri-food Export Essentials series is a four-part webinar series that supports Victorian agricultural producers build their capabilities to export more products to more markets, more often.
Presented by Collins Rex, an experienced trade advisor, the series focuses on what a business needs to consider before starting to export and introduces trade-specific modules to build export confidence.
Agriculture Victoria agriculture policy and programs executive director, Sarah-Jane McCormack said this series will help smaller agri-food businesses expand into international markets and empower small-scale producers to take advantage of export opportunities.
“Sometimes smaller businesses can assume that exporting is beyond them, but that simply isn’t true,” she said.
“Victoria’s produce is world-class and belongs on a global stage.
“The webinars offer key information and insights that will help maintain Victoria as Australia’s largest food and fibre state.”
The series will be free and Victorian agri-food businesses are encouraged to register.
A joint venture between the $10.2 million Small-Scale & Craft Program and the Pathways to Export Program, it will complement the work of Victoria’s trade agency Global Victoria.
Pathways to Export program manager, Will Dalton said the program provided a range of support services specific to agri-food businesses starting out their export journey.
