LAST weekend saw the 157th Annual Day and Night Show for the Coleraine P&A Society where the 2022 Show Shearing and Wool Handling Championships took place.
Shearing convenor and coordinator for the Show Shearing, Neil Langley, said the weekend was a great success with the warm weather and a good turnout of public spectators.
“The weekend was good for everyone - a bit of sport, a bit of relaxation, a lovely day to get out and about,” he said.
The day saw competitors across various categories in wool handling and shearing compete in a prize pool of $4000 and place holder sashes.
“It was a good show… the day went off well. The sheep were shorn to extremely good standards which is what we expect from (the competitors),” Mr Langley said.
“Even right down into the novice section which are the learners, they shore the sheep really well.”
