WITH the average age of farmers approaching 60 years-old, any initiative that makes farming an attractive and/or interesting option for young people growing up on properties who might otherwise shift their focus, would be a welcome entry into the arena.
‘Defying the Drift’ is a program available to secondary school students - typically those growing up on farms - considering a career in agriculture and related industries and is an initiative of Rotary District 9780 which includes around 60 Rotary Clubs located throughout Western Victoria and into South Australia.
