THERE was an increase in numbers to 1300 cattle on Monday at WVLX Mortlake, representing an increase of 176 head.

Trade cattle showed an improvement in quality as did bullocks and manufacturing steers. Cow numbers increased by 200 overall with a good mix of beef and dairy breeds being of similar quality to the previous week’s market. Most of the regular buyers attended with some not operating, however, there was an additional exporter that was active.
