CATTLE numbers held firm at Friday’s Hamilton cattle market, with the yarding being majority cows, with an extra buyer present.

There was some heavier heifers yarded that sold to a top of $4.36, to be 20 cents dearer on last week’s sale.

There was some good pens of cows yarded, the best of the beef bred cows topping to $4.22 per kilogram, the cow yarding averaged $3.95p/kg to be 15 cents dearer on last week’s sale.

Nine bulls were yarded this week, with quality bulls lacking on weeks past, the best bulls made $3.15 and average $2.82 to be 30-40 cents cheaper on last week’s sale.
