MININERA and District Football League followers will not know which team will grab the final spot in the race for the finals until the final round is run and won after round 15 of the home and away competition was completed on Saturday with three teams still in contention.

TWO rounds remain to claim a Mininera and District Football League finals spot with only four teams assured of a place so far.

MININERA and District Netball Association has seen the top six sides all record victories against the bottom six teams in a round of games that followed the form line and left the finals race wide open with three games remaining in the home and away season.

PENSHURST has held its nerve against a determined Glenthompson-Dunkeld at Penshurst Recreation Reserve on Saturday as the arch rivals played out a thrilling contest in round 13 of the Mininera and District Football League (MDFL), 10.7 (67) – 8.12 (60).

GLENTHOMPSON-DUNKLED is seeking to make it six wins in succession when they travel to Penshurst Recreation Reserve today to battle its long-time rivals in the Mininera and District Netball Association match of the round.

THERE are three Mininera and District Football League (MDFL) clubs that have five games to determine not only their own fates but also those of the others, as Glenthompson-Dunkeld, Penshurst and Hawkesdale-Macarthur battle for a finals place in 2023.

HAWKESDALE-MACARTHUR has recorded a percentage-boosting win against SMW Rovers at Hawkesdale Rec Reserve on the weekend to win 19.8 (122) to 4.8 (32) in round 11 of the Mininera and District Football League (MDFL) senior competition.

PENSHURST proved it was a class above Moyston-Willaura on Saturday in the Mininera and District Netball Association (MDNA) A grade competition, as it defeated the Pumas by 43 goals, 60-17 at the final whistle.

GLENTHOMPSON-DUNKELD must defeat Great Western today at Glenthompson Recreation Reserve in round 11 of the Mininera and District Football League or face dropping out of the top five with only five rounds remaining in the season.

WITH six rounds remaining in the Mininera and District Netball Association 2023 home and away season, there is still six teams with a realistic chance of playing finals.
