CASTERTON Sandford will take six teams – four netball and two football – into Western Border finals after celebrating a big round 16 of the home and away season at Island Park.
CASTERTON-SANDFORD is eyeing off a footy finals appearance after the reserves team held off a determined North Gambier by 16 points at Vansittart Park on Saturday, moving up into fourth spot.
JOE McArlein’s men have looked like a premiership contender in patches but haven’t been able to put 20 minutes together in a quarter, let alone a four-quarter effort - until the weekend, when they posted a 102-point win over the East Gambier Bulldogs.
A LARGE crowd of supporters from both clubs were able to enjoy the Autumn sunshine in Millicent, on what had been billed as a lop-sided contest in the favour of the Saints, Millicent having delivered a 68-point shellacking of Casterton Sandford Seniors in the round two match.
