THERE was a very good field on Saturday with 66 men and 24 women playing stableford.

A FIELD of 20 pairs took part in the men’s foursome’s championships, with Kynan Caruana combining with Nicholas Armstrong to win with a very handy score of 68.5 nett.

PARKLANDS Golf Club was given the honour of hosting the mixed gender Victorian Veterans Golf Association Sandgreen Championships for 2024.

SATURDAY’S event at Parklands Golf Club was an 18-hole par and Ron Oakley topped the scores with +3, two clear of runner-up, Bruce Taylor.

A STRONG field of 55 men contested the August Monthly Medal with some very good scores recorded.

SOME increased activity will be noted on the Parklands Golf Club course this week, as it prepares to host the Victorian Veteran Golfers Association Annual Sandgreen Championship on Monday and Tuesday.

WEATHER played a part, as 27 men and eight women took to the course on Saturday to play in a stableford event.

THE Ambrose format of golf allows all standards of golfers to mix and play together with equal enjoyment irrespective of ability.

LAST Saturday was meant to be a two-person ambrose event, but due to the very wet conditions the event was cancelled.
